Learn to love your body!

You are unique and there is no one just like you! Stop wanting to be something you are not and start loving what you actually are! When you think about it, how boring wouldn't it be if we all looked the same!

Group of diverse woman with different body shapes and styles
Me and a group of friends from earlier this year. Love how different we all are, not only our body shapes but also our styles and the colours we wear.

So many people walk around feeling miserable about the way they look and feeling bad in their bodies because they think they are not perfect enough.

We all want to look and feel our best, obviously, but what this actually means is worth questioning. For example, what is even perfect? It always amazes me how we refer to perfect as a universally understood concept when in fact it is very subjective to each and everyones perception of what it actually is.

Me accepting the part I like the least about my body
The part I like the least about my body is my tummy. Wearing high waisted and flat fronted helps me create some shape. I learned to accept that part of me though and refuse to let it break down my confidence.

As a Personal Stylist I want to help woman (and men) to love their bodies just the way they are. I want it to be about here and now and not about later when we lost, or gained, those kilos. Thinking people can walk an entire life never really appreciating their bodies and just looking at the parts they don't like feels like such a waste. Therefore, learn to love your body!

me wearing a cropped top
A cropped top is so out of my comfort zone but I kind of like this top too much not to wear:) I often just go for it:)

There are a lot of things we don't like in life, for sure, but I prefer to focus on the things I do like. The same goes for my body. It is important to give ourselves a break and understand that we don't need to be perfect. The only thing we need to be is ourselves.

Of course it's nice to feel our best and that we are in shape and healthy and taking good care of ourselves but we can't change our bodies. If we are short there's no point in wanting to be tall. Or if we are pear shaped, wishing we were slender without curves is just pointless.

There is a lot that you can do with clothing wearing the right shape and really enhancing and improving your shape and look. What we need to do though is find peace in our relationship with ourselves and understand that what makes a person shine is not their level of perfectness but rather their confidence and the way they carrie themselves.

What I want to say is, don't try to squeeze yourself into being something you are not. Cherish what you are and how you are built and make the most of what you've got.

Posing wearing a cropped top
Again a cropped top! I guess wearing one several times made the actual wearing of it less of a thing.

Be proud of your body! Be forgiving and stop criticising yourself and comparing yourself to others.

In my body shape analysis chats with my clients I always put emphasis on not wishing we were something we are not. It's useless and can never lead to anything positive. Just accept the fact that we are all perfectly imperfect.

Finally, we are not meant to hide, we are meant to shine, and only you can shine for you.

Love yourself and shine
If you like yourself others will too!

And as with everything else, unless we actually change something, nothing will change. If you feel this resonates with you try start focusing on parts of your body you actually like. Start complimenting yourself and start taking ownership of your own feeling good in yourself because it is not in the hands of others it is totally up to you.
